Fix: NetworkUX.ViewModel.SettingEntry error on HP 14-ac146tu windows 10 - Home SL

When I connected the laptop to the WIFI connection, the error message shown was

NetworkUX.ViewModel.SettingEntry

First Solution:

I uninstalled the driver of the wireless network adapter Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter. Then restarted the laptop. Actually, this solution usually works most of the time.  

After I restarted it, I connected to the WIFI connection but faced with the same problem 

--->  NetworkUX.ViewModel.SettingEntry

Second Solution:

I looked at the Add or Remove Programs Settings and saw a Broadcom Network Adapter Driver installed. I thought that this driver has a compatibility issue with the Operating System, so uninstalled it followed by the first solution so that new drivers will be installed. 

After the restart, I connected to the WiFi and it was a successful one. I surfed the internet and was able to browse some pages. But there was one small issue that I had observed.  The WiFi icon meter stayed on one bar, although I am a few meters away from the broadband router.  

It was unusual to see the icon meter like this, so I googled it and read some online forums. I found out that there were Windows Users who faced with the same problem. According to them, this only happened after they made a Windows Update.  Some said it was a bug in Windows 10. 

To solved the problem I did the following. 

First, I tried to update the Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter using the automatic windows driver update but the message was "the best drivers are already installed". So my second option was to manually download the actual update in the HP website. (You just have to know the model and specifications of your laptop to be able to download the appropriate driver). After downloading, I installed it then restarted the computer, then, Voila! The icon meter was already fixed.

In cases like this, solutions may be found from online forums or blogs. It may come from the suggestion of an expert person or were shared by persons who actually experienced and were able to correct the issue. But not all solutions may work for you. You just have to try it out but be skeptical or put a little extra careful on what you are doing.

Bypass Google's Factory Reset Protection on Samsung J5

    Hi there, its been a while since my last post. I am quite busy with the past few months, that is why I haven't posted anything new. But this time, I would like to share my experience in bypassing Google's Factory Reset Protection on Samsung J5.

   A friend  approach me about a problem on her celphone. According to her, her celphone is lock. So I said ok, I will try to unlock it. I accept the job because I have already experiences unlocking android phones. You know, problems like this can be solve with hard reset or installation of stock firmwares and other methods. But this one is different. I am stuck on this.

   So I ask the owner of her google account and password because that's the solution, correct and ideal thing to do. But unfortunately she could not remember it. So I google it and do some research and find out that Samsung Phones have also implemented this kind of security mechanism similar with IPhone's.

   In my opinion, putting passwords and applying factory reset protection on your phones is great, because the moment you lose your phone or someone stolen it, they would have a difficulty accessing it because it's password protected. Now, what they will do is reset the phone but eventually they will be asked to enter the google account and password. Now, that makes the phone unusable. 

   But here's the drawback, what if you accidentally lock your phone. Then you do factory reset and the FRP lock is on and you forgot your google account and password and you are not aware of these things and it goes on and on.  

   So anyway, since the phone is entrusted to me. So I do research and watch youtube videos. I tried several solutions and finally got the right one. So here is the result. Voila!

     I also read that Samsung is continuously patching their phones against flaws and loopholes. Actually it's a battle between Samsung and hackers and one solution may not work with the other one because of the different android versions. 

  

   Now how to prevent this problem. First, write down all your accounts and passwords in a separate device or notebook. Your messenger account, facebook account, google account, yahoo account, samsung account and any other accounts and also the passwords and patterns and any security PINs you installed in your celphone.  Make sure to keep it to your self. This can be handy in times like this.  Second, if you are not sure, try googling it or ask questions from people like me. Hahahaha, just kidding.

        On the third week of my immersion (May 15-19), I understand how the manual way of computing the palay and corn stocks. I ask Mr. Stephen Araña why he has to compute it manually when the PCCS program can calculate it automatically. According to him, he needs to do this to check whether the result of the PCCS computation tallies with his. If there are discrepancies, he will know that there erroneous entries.

         

        I also learn how to generate the file containing the palay and stocks for Iloilo Province using the PCCS Program. After which the reports are send to the central office using the internet.

        

        I understand that the updates on production and harvest area forecasts of palay and corn are generated from the Monthly Palay and Corn Situation Reporting System (MPCSRS). It is a monitoring activity conducted monthly in-between Palay and Corn Production Survey (PCPS) rounds. Monitorings are conducted in February, March, May, June, August, September and November. MPCSRS updates the quarterly forecasts on production and area for the current quarter based on the PCPS results of the previous survey round. The data generated from MPCSRS are as follows: 1) Updates on current quarter’s production and area forecasts based on the standing crop with indications on crop situation; and 2) Updates on current quarter’s forecast on planting intentions based on actual plantings.

        

        Also in this week’s immersion I come up with the following observations:

•        There current data collection may be prone to errors because data collected from the area written in the survey form. The encoder may commit mistakes in encoding the actual values which will affect the results later on.
•      The encoding of stocks for palay and corn is quite taxing on the part of the encoder because there are so many survey forms.
•      The released of the Monthly Palay and Corn Stocks of the central office may be affected when the PSA provincial office failed to email their results.

        Also in this week, I started working with my paper which is prediction of palay yield using Regression technique.

Blog 2

        On May 8 and 9, 2017, my task is about collecting the survey forms from the different identified sample Barangays in the province of Iloilo. All the survey forms are consolidated and later on to be entered in the PCSS (Palay and Corn Stock Survey) Program. 

        Below is a sample survey form of Brgy. Madong, Janiuay, Iloilo.

      On May 10, 2017, I observed Mr. Stephen Araňa how he entered the data in the PCCS Program. He also explained to me the different features of the Program. After I familiarized it, I started entering some of the data on May 11 and 12.

      For a certain barangay, sometimes the total stocks in the program do not match in the survey form, so I have given also the opportunity of finding and correcting the error. The errors committed are during the entering of incorrect data in the PCSS program.

        This is the actual interface where I enter the Palay and Corn data. It's relatively easy because the input fields are properly labeled.

       I apply my immersion at PSA (Philippine Statistics Authority) Iloilo Provincial Office on April 24, 2017. I was entertained by Engr. Jerry Dolutan, the Assistant Statistics Officer in that office.  He introduced me to Mrs. Nelida Amolar, the Provincial Statistics Officer. Mrs. Amolar asked me about the purpose of my immersion and after explaining the nature of my immersion and what I want to achieved, she approved my application. She advised me that I have to start on May 2, 2017.

        

       On May 2, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. I reported for duty. As I enter the office, I saw Engr. Dolutan and approached him. He told me that there is an on-going training in Geo- tagging of Building Structures in the office and advised me to attend.

       

       The training was very informative and fruitful. I learned about the role of PSA in data collection, the overview of geo- tagging the building, the classification of buildings, the flow of geo- tagging and devices and software needed to perform geo-tagging. The PSA and its personnel are very accommodating. They even offered breakfast, snacks and lunch.

         One of the information provided by the PSA Provincial Office is the monthly palay and corn production. In order to accomplish this, PSA administers three different surveys. The PCCS 1(Palay and Corn Survey), which is to gather first hand data from the farmers. The PCCS 2, which data comes from the rice and corn warehouse of private individuals and PCCS 3 from the NFA (National Food Authority) warehouse. The three different surveys will be consolidated and forms part the estimated rice and corn production within the month. The data of the three surveys are entered in an application program. The program can generate different statistical reports and send to the PSA central office.

        The survey questionnaire contains the same entries which are the current status of palay and corn production.

        On May 3, 2017, Mrs. Nelida Amolar advised me to accompany Mr. Stephen Araña, a Statistics Specialist II to observe how the PCCS 1 is administered. PSA has identified barangays in the province of Iloilo and being monitored by different Statistics Specialist. In the case of Mr. Araña, he is assigned in Guimbal and Tubungan. On this day we went to Brgy. Camanggahan, Guimbal, Iloilo. This barangays has seven (7) identified respondents. The respondents are chosen by the PSA central office using a stratified sampling. We depart from PSA office at 8:00 a.m. using the agency service vehicle. It took us 45 minutes to reach the destination barangay. The survey is done through an informal interview. Mr. Araña asked the farmer with questions and writes the answers in the survey form. Mr. Araña finished the survey at 11:30 a.m. We have our lunch at Oton, Iloilo and head back to the office. The same set of questions are asked to the farmers every visit. The PCCS 1 survey is done every first week of the Month. The consolidation of data happens in the second week of the Month when all of the results of the surveys are submitted

Why can't I take pictures with my Laptop Camera?

One of the usual problems of laptop owners, or sometimes it can be like this --> "bakit di gumagana laptop camera ko?"", "sira ba ang laptop camera ko?", "dati ok naman pero nang ipinareformat ko, bakit ngayun wala na?" or "panu ba ako makaselfie using my laptop camera?"

These are the usual suspects.

1. There are no drivers installed in your web cam.
2. Inappropriate drivers are installed.
3. Not enabled or activated. (usual problem)
4. No application to be used to take pictures. (second usual problem)

If you do not know the cause, you can inspect and do-it-yourself by following the steps below. (This can save your money and time)



In windows 7 or windows 8 do the following:

1. Right-click my computer, click properties.
2. In the upper -left side of the window, click device manager.
3. You will see something like this below

Under Imaging Devices, you will see your web cam, mine is BisonCam. This indicates that drivers are correctly installed. If drivers are not installed correctly, you will see a question mark(?) or sometimes an exclamation point (!) which means that there is a problem during the installation of drivers or drivers that you installed are not compatible. If you see any of these, you need to install the drivers before proceeding to the next step. How to install? These are the sub steps and there should be an INTERNET CONNECTION.

                     Right-click your web cam, then click update driver software. Then you will see something
             like this

                       This time click search automatically......Let the program look for the appropriate drivers. If
               it  is successful, you will see something like the first picture above. If not then you have to install
               the drivers using the DVD driver of your laptop. The DVD is included when you purchased your
               laptop. Sometimes the store forget to give the DVD driver, in that case you need to get it from
               them before going home. Sometimes because of excitement and lack of know-how we tend to
               disregard simple but yet very important things. "Kung magpaparepair ka later on at hahanapan ka
               nang techician kung saan na ang DVD driver, ang isasagot mo lang ay ---> may ara pa gali na?".
              
4. If you can see your camera now, proceed to step 5. If you cannot see your web cam, probably it is disabled. All you have to do is enabled it by pressing the right key or keys in your keyboard. Look for a button that has a picture of a camera. Press it and wait until it appears in the device manager tab.

5. Install a camera application program like Cyberlink, Avacam or any available in the web. You just need to download it.(BTW, be careful in downloading programs. Most of the time it contains viruses, PUP's or Adwares. Check also your DVD driver it might contain free application for camera.    

6. If everything goes well then you are ready to go. Be responsible netizens! Happy surfing!

NOTE: This post may be used in troubleshooting your WiFi, card reader and Bluetooth. Now if you can't really do-it-yourself then its probably the right time to consult a technician. :)

Printer cannot load a paper

This particular printer problem again I encountered yesterday when my neighbor ask me to look at her printer. According to her she was able to print yesterday but today her printer cannot load a paper anymore. Though I was not able to check the printer yet, I have the usual suspect. Hmmm, It could be a pen, a paper clip, small piece of paper or a pencil. When I look at it, guess what, it was a small toy car. Hehehehe. Her kid probably play in her working area and accidentally drops it inside the printer.

So what's the moral lesson here. Work in the off-limits kid's area. It's a wake up call for us. Don't wait until someone accidentally bumps or pour water in our laptop or printer and later cry. Huhuhuhu.
